The Andalusia midgets don’t joke around when it comes to playing football.
Andalusia Midget head coach and offensive coordinator Steve Jackson picked the perfect drive late in the fourth quarter to put the ball in Kayden Denson’s hands.
In fact, that’s when the game was at its most serious point late Saturday afternoon at Andalusia High School.
Denson did the rest, rushing in for his second touchdown of the game to help lift Andalusia to a 13-7 victory over Evergreen.
Denson rushed more than 100 yards in addition to his touchdowns.
In tiny mites and termites action, Andalusia won 47-0 and 13-0, respectively, over Evergreen.
The only blemish for Andalusia’s youth teams came with the peewee age group.
Andalusia fell at the hands of one star player for Evergreen, losing 37-15.
In Opp’s youth football league, the Bobcats’ midgets and tiny mites won their games, but the termites and peewees lost to Georgiana.
Andalusia travels to play Georgiana and Opp goes to Straughn on Saturday.
First game for the midgets starts at 4 p.m.
