Florala outscored J.U. Blacksher 28-0 in the second half and rolled to a 56-15 victory over the Bulldogs last night in Uriah.

Wildcats head football coach Justin Jones said his quarterback, Austin McNeill, had a good game.

“Last week sort of trashed him,” Jones said about the Pleasant Home game.

McNeill had three touchdown runs for more than 50 yards each in the game.

Other than shutting the Bulldogs out in the second half, FHS’ defense caused two interceptions.

“We just had a good night overall,” Jones said.

However, Jones did admit that the team did get off to a slow start.

“Maybe it was the two-and-a-half-hour bus ride (it took to get here),” he said. “Usually, we come out pretty good at the gate, but once we got rolling, we were fine.”

Florala scored the most points of its season in this victory and will host Red Level in region action next week.

“We’ll enjoy this one (last night) and tomorrow, we’ll start on Red Level,” Jones said.
