QUMI G. HUCKABA

Qumi G. Huckaba, 90, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Sept. 28, 2012.

Funeral services will be held today, Tues., Oct. 2, at 11 a.m., at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Tim Trent officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. Burial will be held in Banks, Ala., following the services.

She was born Nov. 7, 1921, in Lockhart. She was a graduate of Auburn University, where she earned a master’s degree. She later became a school teacher and taught in Straughn, Red Level, Goshen and Banks. She later retired as a school librarian. She was a volunteer for Covenant Hospice and an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Andalusia, the Andalusia Study Club and other civic organizations.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Homer G. Huckaba, and her mother, Callie Brantley; her father, Walter Greathouse; a nephew, Barry E. Whittle of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and two nieces, Carol Julian of Niagara Falls and Linda Keown of Birmingham.

She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their families, Vada J. (Leslie) Scott and four children, Barbara A. (Willie) Black and four children; Joyce (Bill) Fogle and three children, Paulette F. (Bob) Wright and three children, Paul (Sandy) Whittle and four children, (the late) Barry E. Whittle and two children; and many great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family sends a special thank you to Covenant Hospice.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made in her memory to Covenant Hospice.

MARIE ANDERSON

Marie Anderson, 66 of Andalusia, died Fri., Sept. 28, 2012 in a Pensacola, Fla., hospital.

Funeral services will be held today, Tues., Oct. 2, at 10 a.m., from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dale Norris officiating and interment following in the Stone Lake Cemetery.

She is survived by her daughter and son in law, Kim and Kenny Wheeler of Andalusia; her grandchildren, Dustin Wheeler, Austin Wheeler and Savanna Wheeler Parkinson and her husband, Matthew, all of Andalusia; two great grandchildren, Rylee Wheeler and Cali Parkinson; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Billy Settles of Crestview, Fla., and Joanne and Gerald Martin of Milton, Fla.; and one brother and sister-in-law, Geary and Ellie Ballard of Sanger, Texas.

REBECCA ANN ‘BECKY’ MCCURLEY

Rebecca Ann “Becky” McCurley, 64, of Andalusia, died Fri., Sept. 28, 2012, in an Opp nursing home.

Funeral services were held on Mon., Oct. 1, at Oakey Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Eugene Meadows and the Rev. Carl Douglas officiating. Interment followed in the church cemetery.

She is survived by her four daughters and their husbands, Patsy Lyy and Glenn Boutwell, Sherry McCurley and Tommy Griffin, Leigh Anne and Phillip Whitehurst and Amanda McCurley and Cory Wise, all of Andalusia; her mother, Mrs. Catherine Bailey Clements; her eight grandchildren, Amber, Dalton and Jordin Boutwell, Levi Griffin, Austin and Carl Whitehurst and Annlee and Cade Wise; two brothers and their spouses, Horace and Annette Bailey and Jeff and Robin Bailey, all of Andalusia; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gayle Bailey and Horace Weeks of Kinston and Peggy Bailey and Jim Wood of Andalusia.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McCurley; her father, Austin Bailey, and her sister, Pastine Bailey.

Pallbearers were Dalton and Jordan Boutwell, Levi Griffin, Austin and Carl Whitehurst, Rob White, Austin Chesser and Cameron Hill.

JANIE MCKINLEY FOSHEE

Janie McKinley Foshee, 82, of Red Level, died Sun., Sept. 30, 2012, in the Selma hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Thurs., Oct. 4, at the River Falls Baptist Church with interment in River Falls cemetery. Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Foshee of Red Level; her daughter and son-in-law, Jan and Davy Autrey of Selma; and her grandchildren, Caitlin Autrey, Caleb Autrey, Caden Autrey and Carson Autrey.

Pallbearers will be John McGowin, Jay Davis, Joe Williams, Tommy Thompson, Cecil Loyd and Andy Willis.
