Travel soccer teams on the EFC Andalusia Alliance finished strong last weekend at the Destin (Fla.) Soccer Rodeo tournament.

The U10 soccer team played three games and faced Bay United in the semifinals of the tournament.

The U12s played in the championship game, but finished in second place to the Navarre Tornadoes.

Patricia Gacha, one of the EFC Andalusia Alliance team managers, said the coaches were very pleased with the kids’ performance at the tournament.

The teams have participated in several tournaments, but the rodeo represented the first time they’ve played in the championship, Gacha said.

Currently, the EFC Andalusia Alliance is looking to participate in a 3-versus-3 tournament in Panama City, Fla., on Dec. 15.

Juan Gacha is EFC Andalusia Alliance’s head coach; the and assistant coaches are Dr. Ashton Wells and Chris Flood.

In February 2011, a group of parents were interested in having their kids play soccer year-round and the EFC Andalusia Alliance was born, Patricia said.
