JUDY SIMS MCCORD

Judy Sims McCord, 68, of Opp, passed away recently.

Funeral services will be held Wed., Dec. 19, at 11 a.m., from the Westview Baptist Church of Opp. Burial will follow in the Hardin Street Cemetery with Hammond Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to the service.

Food donations may be carried to the Hardin Street Community Center.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the St. Stephens AME Church in her memory.

 

JOHNNIE WAYNE HOOMES

Johnnie Wayne Hoomes, 59, of Gulsby Farm Road in the Damascus Community of Brewton, passed away Sunday morning, Dec. 16, 2012, at his residence, after a brief illness.

He was a native of Brewton and a former resident of Andalusia for many years before moving back to Damascus Community. He was a 1971 graduate of W.S. Neal High School, a member of the Brooklyn Masonic Lodge and a former driver for AAA Cooper for more than 20 years. He was also was the owner/operator of JW Hoomes Trucking.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia Lee Hoomes of Brewton; two daughters, Diane (Britt) Childers of Opp and Lisa Mychelle Lucal of Andalusia; two stepsons, Curtis Davis and Justin Davis, both of Florida; a stepdaughter, Suzanne Dunn of Florida; one brother, Kenneth Ray (Betty) Hoomes of Brewton; a sister, Coleen (Gene) Jones of Brewton; five grandchildren, Allison Edgar, Emily Jordan, Cheyenne Jordan, Taylor Holloway and Joseph Wayne Lucal; and seven step-grandchildren, Jocelyn Davis, Chase Dunn, Gabe Davis, Casey Dunn, Harlee Davis, Hannah Davis and Kiera Davis.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Ann Paul Hoomes.

Visitation will be held tonight, Tues., Dec. 18, from 6 to 8 at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home in Brewton.

Funeral services are scheduled for Wed., Dec. 19, at 11 a.m., at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Greer officiating. Interment will follow in Hoomes Family Cemetery in the Damascus Community.

STACEY LEE JONES

Stacy Lee Jones, 43, of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Dec. 15, 2012, at her residence following a lengthy illness.

Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Mon., Dec. 17, at the First Baptist Church of Andalusia with Keahey Funeral Home directing and the Rev. Jason Green and the Rev. Scottie Harris officiating. Burial followed in the Cold Water Congregational Church Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Dr. Troy Jones; two sons, Chandler Jones and J.W. Jones; daughter, Zoey Jones, all of Andalusia; father, C. C. McElwain; her mother, Maxine McElwain of Hot Springs, Ark.; father-in-law, Rex Jones; mother-in-law, Esther Jones, both of Andalusia; brother and sister-in-law, Eric and Teresa McElwain of Waynesboro, Ga.; sister and brother-in-law, Stepanie and Mike Duncan of Ocala, Fla.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Clark and Anita Jones and Alisa and Adam Creel; and several nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers were, Adam Creel, Mike Duncan, Clay Elmore, Ashton Elmore, Colton Elmore and Buddy Wilkes.

BETTY STURGIS HARRELSON MANCILL

Betty Sturgis Harrelson Mancill, 73, of Andalusia, passed away Sun., Dec. 16, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Wed., Dec. 19, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Billy Boles officiating. Entombment will follow in Stone Lake Gardens.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Keahey Funeral Home.

Survivors include her son, Steve Harrelson of Dozier; daughters, Sherry (Randy) Coxwell of Loango, Shelia Berry of Red Level and Angie (Micah) Wilson of Red Level; sisters, Carolyn Johns and Patsy Johns, both of Andalusia; grandchildren, Amanda (Kevin) Hart, Steve Harrelson, Randall (Kayla Marie) Coxwell, Austin Berry, Savannah Mock, Matthew (Erin) Wilson, Marlana Wilson and Megan Wilson; and nine great-grandchildren.

UVONNE RAWLS BERRY

Uvonne Rawls Berry, 74, of Red Level, died Sat., Dec. 15, 2012, at her residence.

Funeral services were held Mon., Dec. 17, at the Brooks Baptist Church with the Rev. Derrick Stewart officiating and interment following in the church cemetery.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Debra and Robert Hilson and Shelia and Terry Bulger, all of the Red Oak Community; her son, William Andell Berry of Red Level; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arell Berry, and her son, Randall Berry.

Mickey Ham, 56, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Dec. 14, 2012, in a Mobile hospital.

Graveside services were held Mon., Dec. 17, at the Mt. Pisgah Cemetery with the Rev. Ed Ganus officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include his sister and brother-in-law, Hazel and Charles Lambert of Andalusia; his half sister and brother-in-law, Marqueta Ham and Tim Harris of Red Level; his stepmother, Yolanda Ham of Andalusia; his nieces and their husbands, Misty and Reid Corts of Hattiesburg, Miss., Brandi and John Puet of Mt. Juliet, Tenn., and Maddie Harris of Red Level.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wayne Mercer Ham and Velma Ham, and his brother, Rickey Dean Ham.
