A little after-Christmas shoplifting landed a Florala woman in a Dothan jail.

Reports indicate that the Dothan Police Department responded to a theft in progress at Belk’s Department Store located at Wire-grass Com-mons Mall Wedn-esday.

U-pon arr-ival, police learned security team members were tracking the movements of a woman – later identified as 54-year-old Kathy Dennis – who was allegedly “actively concealing store property in her purse.” Dennis was stopped as she exited the store after taking multiple items, which were recovered. She was arrested for second-degree theft and later released on a $2,500 bond.
