Excel’s James Hudson hit a game-winning 3-pointer to help lift his B-team to a 48-47 overtime victory over Opp Friday night.

Hudson led EHS with 28 points. Robert Richardson had 10 points.

Opp’s Chris Morrow led the Bobcats with 15 points. Marquavis Hall had 11 points and made the trey with eight seconds left in OT to give OHS a 47-45 lead.

 

Opp girls 62, Excel girls 13

The Lady Bobcats put a beat down over EHS in area play at OHS.

Saquaya Lane led OHS with 14 points, Laiken Free chipped in 13 points and Nisha Stoudemire had 11 points in the win.

Excel’s DeToria Parker had five points.

OHS improves to 11-2 overall, and 2-1 in Class 3A, Area 2.

 

Excel boys 63, Opp boys 50

Three Excel players finished in double figures for the Panthers in the area victory.

Christian Gross had 15 points, Ray-Ray Dale had 12 points and Quamie Penn had 11 points.

Opp’s JaKeith Edwards had 15 points to lead the Bobcats (2-11, 0-3). Jaylon Wade had 11 points.

Opp is back in action on Tuesday as it visits Straughn in area action.
