Brice Scott scored 20 points and had four assists and four steals to help lead Straughn to a 55-50 victory over Red Level on Tuesday night.

JD Driver added 11 points and five assists and Nick Stepp had 10 points for SHS in the win.

Red Level dug itself a hole early, but climbed right back out of the cavern, boys coach Allen Catrett said.

“I’m proud of the guys playing hard,” Catrett said. “They bounced back from a tough game last night. I’ve got four guys who have logged 72 minutes in two nights.

“We dug a hole early, but we fought back out of it,” he said.

Straughn led 18-10 after the first period.

Red Level went on to outscore SHS 13-4 in the second period to lead 23-22 at the break.

Straughn came back and had a better third period to lead 42-35 going into the fourth.

“We had too many defensive breakdowns in the third period,” Catrett said.

Red Level’s KJ Lawrence had 24 points and Spencer Stallworth chipped in 12 points to lead their team. Dee Tolbert had eight points.

RLS (15-13) hosts G.W. Long on Friday for senior night. Straughn visits Florala.
