JAMES ROBERT
WALLACE
James Robert Wallace, 68, of Andalusia, died Thurs., Feb. 14, 2012, at his residence. Graveside services will be held on Sun., Feb. 17, 2013, at 2 p.m. from the Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery. The Rev. Robert Canani will officiate.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Wendy and Jeremy Cottle of Andalusia; his son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Yvonne Wallace of Thousand Oaks, Calif.; one grandchild, Aubryn Cottle of Andalusia; three brothers, Johnn (Charlotte) Wallace of Andalusia, Gary (Li) Wallace and Gene (Ivy) Wallace, all of Hoover, Ala.; two sisters, Ann (Bill) Clark of Andalusia and Ginger (Ken) Burdett of Opelika.
The family will receive friends at the cemetery.

JAY SANDERS
Jay Sanders, 80 of Andalusia passed away Wed., Feb. 13, 2013, in a local nursing facility.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Sun., Feb. 17, 2013, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 tonight, Sat., Feb. 16, 2013, at Keahey Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Sanders of Andalusia; son, Joseph Sanders of Hope Hull; daughter, Julie (Mark) Mai of Destin, Fla.; a brother, Dick Sanders of Columbus, Ga.; and grandchildren, Justin Tisdale and Matlin Mai.
Mr. Sanders served 20 years in the Army with tours in both the Vietnam and Korean Wars. While serving in the military he attained an E-9 rank as a master sergeant and earned many commendations.
Retiring in 1969, he moved to Andalusia shortly thereafter. In Andalusia, he spent the rest of his life on a small farm producing some of the finest beef and produce in the area–much like his father had. Known for his strong will to live, his quick wit and his “sergeant skills,” Jay will surely be missed by family, friends and the community.
Serving as pallbearers will be Teddy Bryant, Patrick Barrow, Ricky Sowell and members of the United States Army.

Eddy Lee Johns Jr.,
Eddy Lee Johns Jr., age 65 of Andalusia, passed away Sat., Feb. 9, 2013, at his residence.
Keahey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Eloise Johns; a daughter, Renea Johnson; a stepson, Kenny Godwin; and his grandchildren, Johnny Jernigan, Matt Jernigan, Justin Jernigan, and Drew Johnson.
Mr. Johns was preceded in death by his parents, Edgar L. Johns Sr. and Frankie Beverly Johns.
