A Covington County grand jury agreed this week there is enough evidence to try the former Florala Utilities Board manager accused of stealing more than $40,000 and using her position for personal gain.
Lynn Hughes, 52, was arrested in September after Alabama Bureau of Investigation agents discovered she allegedly paid herself an additional $8,000, while writing checks for nearly $32,000 to cover family health insurance premiums.
Jail reports show Hughes was indicted on four counts of using a public office for personal gain and three counts of theft of property I.
She was booked into the Covington County Jail Thursday afternoon and later released on a $250,000 bond.
The case has not been set for trial.
