Bulldogs beat Geneva, Baker in trimatch

Andalusia tacked on two additional wins on Saturday in a baseball trimatch against Geneva and Baker, Fla.

The Bulldogs defeated Geneva 7-2 in its first game, and clipped the Gators 15-2 in four innings.

In the third game, Geneva beat Baker 7-3.

With these wins, AHS improves to 13-2 overall this season. The Bulldogs will be back in action on Tues., March 19, at Straughn for a doubleheader.

Andalusia 7, Geneva 2

Andalusia’s Quinton Maddox went 1-for-3 with two RBIs to lead the Bulldogs at the plate.

Hunter Earnest also went 1-for-3 with one RBI and scored one run to pace AHS. Peyton Maddox went 0-for-2 and scored two runs, while drawing an RBI on a walk.

Justin Scherzinger and Will Harrison had one hit each for AHS.

Winning pitcher Zach Ward allowed two runs on fie hits and struck out two in 5.1 innings to earn the win.

Daniel Henderson earned the save in one inning of work. He struck out two batters.

Geneva’s Jay Stough went 2-for-3 to lead the Panthers.

Andalusia 15, Baker, Fla. 2

Grayson Campbell went 1-for-3 with a double, three RBIs and scored one run to lead Andalusia.

Ward went 1-for-3 with two RBIs and scored two runs.

Scherzinger went 2-for-2 with an RBI; Devan McDuffie went 1-for-1 with an RBI; Todd Wright went 1-for-2 with an RBI; Peyton Maddox went 0-for-1 with an RBI and scored a run; and Brandon Smith and Grant Marcum went 0-for-2 with an RBI each.

Evans Barnes went 1-for-1 and scored a run.

McDuffie earned the win on the mound, allowing one run on two hits and struck out one batter.

Baker’s G. Saders went 1-for-1.
