The Andalusia Ballet will host its fourth Art Supporting Art show at the Church Street Cultural Arts Centre.

A reception will be held from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Sun., April 7, featuring a meet and greet with the artists. The exhibit will be on display through the end of May.

The show will feature the work of local photographer Robert Evers, local artist Roger Powell, and Hartford-based painter Colleen Guy.

Evers is the younger brother and associate of well-known local portrait artist Vicki Popwell. Evers collection will include prints of familiar Andalusia landmarks and images from his extensive overseas travels. A graduate of the University of Alabama, his work is seen frequently through his role as an official photographer for the Andalusia Ballet.

Powell is known to many in this area from his tenure as Covington County’s Circuit Clerk. Recently retired, Powell now has had more time to devote to his art. His paintings of local historical buildings such as Andalusia High School are familiar to most local residents.

Guy started painting at the young age of 11. Mostly self-taught, her favorite subjects are people, outdoor scenes, and gardens. She has four grandchildren who have been the subject of many of her paintings. She has won numerous awards for her work.
