Bad check writers are getting one last opportunity to make good on their debts before being “rounded up” in the coming days, the county’s worthless check unit officials said Wednesday.

“As a follow-up to the publications in the local newspapers concerning worthless check writers, the Worthless Check Unit is organizing a round-up for check writers that have outstanding warrants,” a news release from the DA’s office said. “The round-up will be towards the latter part of this month. Investigators have already arrested several people who were listed in the publications, and we are issuing this message to let check writers know that they only have a limited time to take care of those checks before they are arrested.”
