Safety was on the minds of council members at Monday night’s workshop in Opp.

The city has already installed a system that tells employees when someone enters city hall.

Councilman Arlin Davis said he thought it would be a good idea to purchase a wand to scan people.

“They aren’t very expensive – around $75 or so,” he said. “We would use the wand to scan people as they come through the door. If they have a knife, they can put it in a bucket.”
