Straughn’s Brooks Rabren shot a 2-under 70 to finish as the low medalist of the Class 3A Sectional Golf Tournament at Lagoon Park in Montgomery.

Rabren shot well enough to lead the Tigers to a team score of 310, which garnered them second place and a spot to play in the substate tournament at Arrowhead Country Club next week.

Keegan Compton shot a 74, Bryan Bowers shot a 76 and Austin Noland put in an 88 on his scorecard.

Bayside Academy shot the low round with a 305 to win the tournament. Trinity finished third with a 326.

In the Class 4A sectional, Andalusia’s Hunter Dendy shot an 80 to finish as the low medalist.

The Bulldogs, as a team, showed well enough to qualify for the substate round next at Timber Creek in Daphne.
