More than $10,000 was raised Monday during the “Taste of Covington County” – the local Red Cross chapter fundraiser.

Executive director Don Johnson said more than 300 people attended to sample wares from 19 different food vendors and 19 sponsors.

“Our county is very fortunate to have its own American Red Cross Chapter and Monday night is the reason why,” Johnson said. “It takes a community to sustain the efforts of the Red Cross mission and that is what we have, the support of the county community.”
