Mary Nell loved life. She thrived on celebrations with family and friends. She enjoyed traveling the world, sailing on cruises and music and dancing. As an avid reader, she was dedicated to lifelong learning and kept up with world events until the end of her days.  She and her family took great pride in her graduation in 1969 as one of only a few women in a class of hundreds of men at Louisiana School of Banking at LSU.

She was a member of First Baptist Church of Opp, the Trailmasters and the Opp Historic Society and spent many hours raising her voice in praise with the Glory Singers at First Baptist Church of Andalusia.

Family and friends are invited to share a celebration of her life at Wyatt Funeral Home on Sat., May 11, at 11 a.m. The family will receive visitors for one hour prior to the service. Per her request, her ashes will be buried beside her husband, Gat, at a later date.
