The 17th annual Opp Dixie Baseball Memorial Day Classic Tournament will get under way tomorrow night.

Teams from around the area and from Georgia and Florida will compete in the annual tournament.

There will be two separate divisions — a 15-to-16-year-old division and an 17-and-up division.

Games start at 5 p.m. tomorrow. The 15-16 age group will hold its games on Senn Field, while the 17U teams will play on Merchants Field.

The local teams who are playing come from Opp and Covington County.

“We expect a big crowd,” Opp Dixie Baseball President Hoss Ramer said. “We always have a good turnout. There’ll be full concessions. You can eat at the ball park.

“Come on out, we always have a good time,” he said.

After tomorrow night’s games, the tournament will resume on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. for a slate of five games. On Sunday, action will start at 1 p.m. for a three-game slate.

Tournament passes are $15 per person. Day passes are $10 per person.
