Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith Jr. announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Lindsey Carol Smith, to Bradley Wilson Peden, son of Dr. and Mrs. Montgomery Peden, all of Enterprise.

The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Carolyn Black of Andalusia and the late Thomas Black; the late Carlos White of

Opp and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smith of McCalla.

She is a 2008 graduate of Enterprise High School, and in 2013, the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Nursing. She is currently employed as a registered nurse at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

The prospective groom is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. W.L. Kygar of Ponca City, Okla.; the late Mr. and Mrs. George H. Peden of Milton, Fla., and Wilson Harrell of Enterprise.

He attended Birmingham Southern College and is a 2011 honor graduate of the University of Alabama, where he earned a health professions option degree. While at both schools, he was a member of Theta Chi fraternity. He is currently a third-year medical student at the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

The wedding is planned for 6:30 p.m., Aug. 17, 2013, at First Baptist Church of Enterprise. A reception will follow at the Enterprise Country Club.
