Attention area merchants – don’t accept checks from a Darwin Young.

Lamar Stokes with the county district attorney’s worthless check unit said that someone posing as Young has been passing worthless checks on accounts at two area banks – the Opp branch of Cadence Bank with check numbers 101 through 199 and from Andalusia’s BB&T with check numbers 1001 through 1009.

“Mr. Young reports he has had several checks stolen that are being passed to merchants in our area,” Stokes said. “If one of these checks has been passed to your business, contact your local law enforcement agency.”
