BRENDA MOORE

Brenda Moore, 51, of Brantley, passed away on Thurs., June 6, 2013, in a Montgomery hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Sat., June 8, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Farris officiating. Interment will follow in Bullock Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing.

Survivors include her husband, Kenneth Moore of Brantley; brother, Ronnie (Deirdre) Duncan of Henderson; niece, Angelia Duncan McFarland; great-niece, Alyssa McFarland of Opp; and mother-in-law, Jane Parks of Elba.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edna Ree Chandler and Raymond Duncan.

LINDA MARIA KNOWLES MORRIS

Linda Maria Knowles Morris, 47, of Montgomery, died Tues., June 4, 2013, in a Montgomery hospital.

A memorial service was held on Thurs., June 6, at Frazier Memorial United Methodist Church in Montgomery.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Sat. June 8, at Hopewell Baptist Church with the Rev. Barry Wilkinson, the Rev. Dennis Knowles and the Rev. Keith Parker officiating. Interment will follow at Thomasson Cemetery with Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be held 30 minutes prior to services at the church.

She is survived by her husband, Bill Morris of Montgomery; a daughter, Katherine “Katie Beth” Morris of Montgomery; father, William E. Knowles of Andalusia; father and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Roy (Beverly) Morris of Slap Out; several aunts, uncles and cousins; brothers-in-law, Shep (Rite) Morris of Shorter, Jack (Lisa) Morris of Montgomery and Bob (Angie) Morris of Slap Out; and her dog, Sheba.

Pallbearers will be David Knowles, James Knowles, Glen Knowles, Richard Knowles, Troy Wiggins, Glen Walters, Jack Sansom and Charles Smith.

 

AUDREY ELIZABETH LEE LITTLE

Audrey Elizabeth Lee Little, born on Aug. 19, 1942, of Andalusia, passed away Thurs., June 6, 2013, in the Andalusia Hospital emergency room.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Mon., June 6, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Salem Cemetery. Brother Clyde Northrop will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Sunday from 6-8 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.

Survivors include her husband, David Little of Andalusia; her step-daughter and son-in-law, Tonya (Clete) Pelham of Andalusia; two grandchildren, Sera and Reagan Pelham; one sister, Carolyn Lee King of Andalusia; two brothers, Eugene (Faye) Lee of Opp and Jimmy (Debbie) Lee of Ohio; brother-in-law, Hinton Short from Opp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Culin Lee; her sister, Barbara Lee Short, and a brother-in-law, Sam King Jr.

JAMES ROBERT ‘BUCK’ GRIGGS

James Robert “Buck” Griggs, 88, of Andalusia, passed away on Tues., June 4, 2013, in a local hospital.

Funeral services were held on Fri., June 7, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Kenneth Mitchell officiating with interment following in Fairmount Baptist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include wife, Betty Joyce Griggs of Andalusia; daughters, Linda (Robert) Olivera of Santa Barbara, Calif., and Deborah Holley of Andalusia; son, Otis (Martha) Griggs; son-in-law, Doug Cook; two brothers, Albert Griggs and David Griggs; one sister, Margie Blackmon, all Andalusia; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissia Gayle Cook.

 

GARY LEE NELSON

Gary Lee Nelson, 70, of the Red Oak Community, died Tues., June 4, 2013, at his residence.

He was a retired telephone switchman and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.

No services are planned at this time.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Nelson of the Red Oak Community; two daughters, Judy Nelson and Sharon Nelson; one son, Gary Nelson Jr., all of Pinetop, Ariz.; two step-sons, Steve Clark of Red Level and Emlyn Clark of Las Vegas, N. Nev.; seven grandchildren; seven-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Jo Ann Thompson, Pat Pacquette and Judy Leomarand all of Las Vegas; and one brother, Larry Nelson of Calienpe, Nev.
