A Lockhart woman was critically injured in a Holmes County, Fla., crash Wednesday morning.

The Florida Highway Patrol and the jcfloridian.com reported that the accident occurred at 7:30 a.m. when a 2006 Dodge Durango SUV was traveling north on Country Road 177A in Holmes County. As it entered a curve to the right, the vehicle rotated clockwise.

The driver, identified as 20-year-old Candace Faith Capshaw took evasive action, steering sharply to the left in an attempt to regain control. Capshaw lost control of the SUV as it started rotating counter-clockwise and later struck a large pine tree.

Capshaw was treated on the scene and initially transported to Doctors Memorial Hospital in Bonifay, but due to the extent of her injuries, was transferred to Bay Medical Hospital in Panama City, Fla.
