Babe Ruth state tourney starts today

Eleven teams highlight the Babe Ruth 13-to-15-year-old State Baseball Tournament, which starts today LBWCC and Andalusia High School.
Tow local All-Star squads — Covington County and Opp — will compete in pool play the first two days of the tournament. On Monday, single elimination bracket play starts. The semifinals and finals will be held on Wednesday.
Each day will have games starting at 10 a.m. with the last game starting at 7 p.m.
Opp is in Pool A with Tallassee and Brewton. Covington County is in Pool B with Childersburg, Mims Green and Millbrook. In Pool C, Mims White, Monroeville, Talladega and Elba will play.
In pool play, there will be a coin flip to decide the home team.
Opp and Tallassee get started today at 10 a.m., and then again will play at 4 p.m. against Brewton.
Covington County’s first game is tonight at 7 against Millbrook.
On Sunday, Covington County plays Mims Green at 10 a.m. and Childersburg at 7 p.m. to wrap up its pool play.
Pool C will play its games at AHS, starting at 10 a.m. today, where Mims White plays Monroeville. Talladaga and Elba play at 1 p.m.; Mims and Talladega play at 4 p.m.; and Mims and Elba finish the first day at 7 p.m.
On Sunday at AHS, Monroeville will play Talladega at 10 a.m.; Mims will face Elba at 1 p.m.; and Tallassee will play Brewton at 4 p.m. to wrap up pool play.
