After a strong night performance in barrel racing Wednesday, McKenzie’s Bailey O’Ferrell moved up to No. 8 in the standings at the National High School Finals Rodeo at the Sweet Water Events Complex in Rocky Springs, Wyo.

O’Ferrell sat at No. 16 after the morning portion of the race, but scored a 18.147 that night to move up. Currently, O’Ferrell is sitting at No. 9.

In the team roping performance Wednesday night, Caleb Varner of Red Level and Jordan Whitman of Andalusia sit at No. 6 after getting 15.96 points.

Florala’s Chase Hargrove scored a 93 in kneeling, a 65 in standing and a 83 in prone in the shooting competition to come out with a total of 241. The leader sits at 331 as of Thursday morning.
