Garbage service changing for some on Valley of Shiloh

Allied Waste/Republic Services is notifying approximately 15 customers who live south of the intersection of Valley of Shiloh Road and Indian Springs Loop that after August 19, they will have to place their garbage carts within 40 feet of the intersection for service.

Operations supervisor Robert Melvin said the company recently lost turnaround privileges at the end of Valley of Shiloh Road. Safety policies will not allow drivers to back down residential roads.

Melvin said the company will continue to pick up garbage from the roadside through August 19, but after that, carts must be moved.

Melvin said the policy could be changed if any of the affected customers would give the company permission to turn around on their property.

Melvin can be contacted at 334.504.0425.
