To returning Andalusia Elementary School students, it might look like the teachers played fruitbasket turnover, or some similar game, when school starts later this month.

Superintendent Ted Watson said all of the changes began when Joy Sowards asked to be transferred from AES, where she taught music, to AMS, where she will teach math this fall.

Last night, the board approved a number of changes that happened as a sort of chain reaction, including:

• Transferring Cathy Powell from talented and gifted (TAG) teacher to music and art teacher at AES.

• Transferring Barbara Peek from fourth and fifth grade science teacher to TAG teacher at AES.

• Transferred Jenifer Earnest from 4th grade to 8th grade English teacher at AMS.
