A reception for Opp’s 12U All-Star Cal Ripken baseball team will be held Tuesday at the Opp Adult Activity Center.

The reception, which will take place from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m., is being hosted by Opp Mayor John Bartholomew and his wife, Maggie, and the council members.

Folks are encouraged to come and enjoy cake and refreshments with the Southeast Regional Champions, and to wish them continued success at the World Series.

Donations will be accepted to help the team with their travels.

Opp leaves for Hammond, Ind., next week, where the World Series will be held Aug. 9-16.
