Sisters give birth to daughters on same day

July 24th was a day of celebration for two Opp families as sisters gave birth to girls on the same day.
First born was Katelyn Elizabeth Jowers, the daughter of Maryfaith and TJ Jowers.
She entered the world at 7:29 a.m. at Flowers Hospital in Dothan.
Her cousin, Allie Grace McCarty, the daughter of Jessica and Hal McCarty, followed at 2:09 p.m. at Andalusia Regional Hospital.
Miss Jowers weighed 8 pounds, 6 ounces and was 20 ½ inches long.
She is the paternal granddaughter of Paula and Dale Anderson and Sheryl Lang, all of Andalusia. She is the maternal granddaughter of Dr. Faith Drumheller and Capt. Ralph Rutherford and Kenn Howell and Sue McIntyre, all of Opp.
She was welcomed home by her big brother, 3-year-old Brayden Jowers.
Miss McCarty weighed 8 pounds 8 ounces and was 22 inches long.
She is the paternal granddaughter of Sylvia and Frankie McCarty and the great-granddaughter of June Edgar, all of Opp.
She was welecomed home by her big brother, 6-year-old Malachi Howell.
Both girls are the maternal granddaughters of Dr. Faith Drumheller and Capt. Ralph Rutherford and Kenn Howell and Sue McIntyre, all of Opp, and the great-granddaughters of Reba Howell McDuffy and Hershal McDuffy of Samson.
