AHS grads make most of study abroad scholarships

Ava May and Amber Thomas both studied at Cambridge University in England this summer as recipients of study abroad scholarships awarded through the Andalusia High School Class of ’48 Foundation.

Ava May received the Claire and Murray Findley International Study Scholarship. Murray Findley is a 1948 graduate of AHS and a member of the Foundation board.

Amber Thomas received the Mary Findley Godwin International Study Scholarship

Mrs. Findley, a resident of Evergreen (Brooklyn Community), is not a graduate of Andalusia High School, but like her cousin, Murray, is deeply committed to supporting the Class of 1948 Foundation in its mission of providing international education experiences for Andalusia High School graduates.

The awarding committee requires recipients to provide essays about their experiences.
