Straughn falls to No. 9 in ASWA poll

Straughn’s 12-6 loss to Andalusia Friday night dropped the Tigers four spots to No. 9 in Class 3A of the Alabama Sports Writers Association football poll, which was released today.

The Tigers started the season at No. 5 in the preseason poll.

SHS dropped below Fayette County, who also is 0-1 on the season. The Tigers are above Hamilton, who is 1-0.

Opp received 22 votes, but wasn’t ranked in the poll. Hamilton had a total of 56 votes.

In Class 4A, Andalusia received nine votes, but wasn’t ranked in the poll.

Straughn visits W.S. Neal, Andalusia’s at Monroe County and Opp hosts T.R. Miller this week.
