A Covington County 18-year-old was transported by LifeFlight helicopter to Pensacola Friday afternoon suffering serious gunshot injuries. His brother, 17, was questioned, but no charges had been filed and no names released when The Star-News went to press last night.
Chief Deputy David Anderson said deputies and Opportunity EMS were dispatched to a shooting scene off U.S. 331 north of Opp at approximately 3:45 p.m. Friday. When deputies arrived, they found an 18-year-old white male suffering from a gunshot wound to the right side of his neck, throat and shoulder.
Deputies then detained his 17-year-old brother for questioning, Anderson said.
The investigation was ongoing at press time, and Anderson said names were not being released due to ages, and pending notification of family members.
