Community input is being sought for a five-year strategic plan for the Opp City Schools System.

Superintendent Michael Smithart said a community forum will be held on Mon., Sept. 30, from 6:30 p.m. until 8:15 p.m. at the LBWCC MacArthur campus conference center.

“This event is designed to give students, parents, employees and community members an opportunity to discuss the future of the Opp City Schools,” Smithart said. “An overview of the strategic planning process will be given by Dr. Marcia Burke and the team of educators helping with this project. Discussion groups will follow, allowing participants to share ideas about short and long range plans for improving our schools over the next five years. All participants are welcome to help us envision the best school district to serve Opp City students and our community.”
