Andalusia and Straughn dropped spots in the most recent Alabama Sports Writers Association football poll, which was released today.

The Bulldogs fell 29-8 to top-ranked UMS-Wright last week to fall four spots to No. 10 in Class 4A.

Straughn suffered a humiliating 42-7 loss to Class 3A second-ranked T.R. Miller, who was No. 3. The Tigers dropped five spots to No. 10 in Class 3A.

This week sets up a must-win for SHS as its hosts Opp at Tigers Stadium.

The Tigers (6-2) need to win this week’s game to gain a No. 2 seed and a home berth in the first round of the state playoffs.

Andalusia (7-1) hosts Escambia County, and has already solidified the No. 2 seed and home playoff berth.
