ROBERT LEON ‘HIPPA GATOR’ LAWSON

Robert Leon “Hippa Gator” Lawson, 66, of Babbie, passed away at his residence.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., today, Fri., Oct. 25, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Smith officiating and interment following in Stone Lake Gardens.

Survivors include his children, Julie Lawson (Joe) Henley, Nick Lawson, all of Opp, and Sonya (Max) Richardson of Milton, Fla.; sister, Sylvia Jean (Terry) Neal; brothers, Fred (Helen) Lawson, John (Joretha) Lawson, all of Andalusia, Lamar Lawson of Loango and Ricky Lawson of Elba; sister-in-law, Betty Lawson of Andalusia; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Ledlow Lawson; brother, Donald Lawson; and sister, Sherry Barefoot.

EDWINA HARRELSON

Edwina Harrelson, 87, of Andalusia, passed away Wed., Oct. 23, 2013, in the Andalusia hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Fri., Oct. 25, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Derwood Cleland and the Rev. Ed Ganus officiating and interment following in Andalusia Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include sons, Grover C. “Buddy” Harrelson Jr. of Andalusia and Foy Wayne Harrelson of Red Level; daughters, Connie Lanette Powell of Conyers, Ga., Wilda Jean Harrelson of Millbrook and Patty H. Lasiter of Andalusia; grandchildren, Andy Harrelson, Loresa Harris, Debra Kervin, Lane Harrelson, Cayne Harrelson, Lamar Powell, David Powell, Heather Bankson, Daniel Bankson, Jason Bankson, Jacob Bankson, Tim Hudson and Wayne Hudson; step-grandchildren, Shannon Lasiter and Jody Lasiter; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover C. Harrelson, and several brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Lamar Powell, Andy Harrelson, Tim Hudson, Justin Byrd, Jason Bankson, Wayne Harrelson, Dusty Varner and Daniel Bankson.

CLARA MANELL LANGFORD

Clara Manell Langford, 85, of Troy, died Wed., Oct. 23, 2013, at her residence.

Graveside services will be held on Sat., Oct. 26, at 11 a.m., at Mt. Gilead Church Cemetery in Rosehill.

Visitation will tonight from 6-8 at Green Hills Funeral Home.

She was born and raised in Covington County. She moved to Pike County in 1964. She attended Troy University, where she earned her master’s and later, a doctorate from Auburn University. She was married for 65 years to her husband, Murray Langford. She was an avid worldwide traveler, a member of the First Baptist Church in Troy and retired as director of federal programs for Pike County Board of Education.

She was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelly Elizabeth Langford, and brother, Charles Radford.

She is survived by her husband, Murray Langford; sons, David Langford and Mark Langford (Jeanie); daughter, Melinda Luker (Charles); sister, Patsy Rathel (Dwight); grandchildren, Greg Langford, Chase Luker, Amanda Luker, Abby Luker, Jordan Langford and Claire Langford; and great-grandchildren, Jackson Langford and William Langford.

Pallbearers will be Shannon Hughes, Ty Hughes, Drexel Wayne Hughes, Charles Luker, Terry Wayne Hughes and Chad Hughes.
