When Chris Mohono of Gitty-Up-N-Go presented Tari McClung with a $5,000 check Thursday, it pushed the 2014 fundraising drive over the $35,000 mark.

Thursday was the last day for United Fund volunteers to distribute materials to potential donors.

The organization has set a fundraising goal of $120,000 for local charities in 2014. Residents are encouraged to give the financial equivalent of one-hour’s work per month.
