Opp beat Florala 55-34 in its season opener last night.

The Bobcats and Wildcats were in start-of-the-season form throughout the contest.

OHS went ahead 11-0 in the first period due to a slue of Florala turnovers, and never looked back, leading 12-6 at the end of the first period and 28-15 at halftime thanks to a 9-0 run in the second period.

FHS bounced back in the third period, outscoring Opp 14-12 to cut the lead to 40-29.

The Bobcats went back to their strong passing game in the final period and went ahead by 20 at 52-32 late in the win.

Quantavis Stoudemire and Chris Morrow led OHS with 10 points each off the bench. Raheem Bonham had nine points off the bench, and Derek Savage added eight.

In girls action, the Lady Bobcats won 34-17.

Asia Edwards led OHS with 15 points, and Saquaya Lane had 12 points.

Florala’s Shay Brooks led the Lady Wildcats with five points. Lyndsee Edwards added four.

In B-team action, Opp won 39-24.
