RLS varsity beats Florala Friday night

Red Level’s boys and girls basketball teams beat Florala last night in regular season action.

The Lady Tigers topped the Lady Wildcats 40-25, while the boys won big over FHS, 64-31.

Shelby Holley led RLS with 16 points. Kayla Hinson chipped in 10 points.

Florala’s Myn James led with eight points. Shay Brooks had seven points.

In boys, Jeffrey Purdue and Jonathan Coleman had 12 points each; Spencer Stallworth put in 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds; and Chavis Crittenden chipped in 11 points to lead Red Level.

Florala’s Khalen Ball led the Wildcats with 15 points.

In B-team action, Florala beat RLS 28-26 in overtime.

Hunter Carpenter led RLS with 13 points, and Javarius Grooms added 11.

In other basketball action last night, Opp’s girls defeated Georgiana 52-38 to start play in a tournament at GHS.

The varsity boys lost 69-47 for their first loss of the season.

The girls play Tuskeegee tonight at 6:30, while the boys play a magnet school at 5 tonight in the consolation round.
