HENRY SEYMOUR

Henry Seymour, 98, of Andalusia, passed away on Sat., Nov. 30, 2013, at a local nursing facility.

Funeral services are incomplete and will be announced later by Keahey Funeral Home.

 

DOUG SCARBROUGH

Doug Scarbrough, 69, of Opp, passed away on Sun., Dec. 1, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wed. Dec. 4, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ashley Faulk officiating and interment following in the Mt. Zion Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Keahey Funeral Home.

He is survived by his wife, Dianne Scarbrough of Opp; sons, Roy Douglas (Brandy) Scarbrough of Troy and Jeremy Ekron Scarbrough of Opp; daughters, Dena (Lonnie) Feagin, Robin (Johnny) Smith, both of Troy, and Keetra Dawn (Ricky) Carter of Jack; brother, Ray Scarbrough; sisters, Sarah Nell Henderson and Patricia Norris, all of Opp; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Scarbrough, Ricky Carter, Johnny Smith, Lester Smith, Lonnie Feagin and David Drinkard.

DOROTHY ARMSTRONG DAUGHTRY

Dorothy Armstrong Daughtry, 75, of Andalusia, died Sat., Nov. 30, 2013, in a local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Wed., Dec. 4, at Harmony Baptist Church with the Rev. Greg Cotter officiating and interment following at Harmony Cemetery with Foreman Brown-Service Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be tonight from 5 to 8 at Foreman’s and at the church 30 minutes prior to services.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jonathan David Daughtry Sr.; parents; George H. Armstrong and Gladys Armstrong Potts; brothers; Robert Armstrong and W.D. Armstrong; and sisters, Myrtle White, Mary Kirksey, Minnie Lunsford, Annie Mae Jones and Lillie Mae Williamson.

She is survived by her daughter, Twynette (Gerald) Worley of Andalusia; son, Jonathan David Daughtry Jr. of Wing; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Ruth (Louis) Pape of Somerset, Texas, and Joyce (Jimmy) French of San Antonio, Texas; and brother, Lamar (Sarah) Armstrong of Gantt.

Pallbearers include Michael Owens, Russell Worley, Zackery Worley, William Worley, Gevan Mayo and J.T. White.

JEWELL D. BESS

Jewell D. Bess, 81, of Andalusia, passed from this life into eternal joy Sat., Nov. 30, 2013, at her residence following an extended illness.

Visitation will be held today, Tue., Dec. 3, from 6 until 8 p.m. at Wyatt Funeral Home in Opp. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., on Wed., Dec. 4, at Wyatt Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Holley and the Rev. Josh Wilson officiating. Internment will be at Peaceful Acres Memorial Gardens in Opp.

She was born Oct. 12, 1932, to the late Eddie Washington Sorrells and Annie Maudie Bringhust. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Audie Ray Rhodes, and by a sister, Mildred Jordan of Monroeville.

A devoted wife and loving mother, she dedicated her life to her family and to her Lord and Savior. She attended Bethany Baptist Church of Andalusia.

She is survived by her husband, Irvin Bess; daughter, Judy B. (Johnny) Holley of Dothan; son, Ray Lamar (Patricia) Rhodes of Andalusia; grandchildren, Joni (Danny) Zimmerman of Dothan, Jana (Billy) Best of Cottondale, Fla., Chad (Casey) Rhodes of Trussville; and great-grandchildren, Holey and Kinley Zimmerman, Will Best, Aiden and Conner Rhodes.

BEATRICE GARVIN FORTE

Beatrice Garvin Forte, 82, of the Carolina Community, passed away on Fri., Nov. 29, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services were held on Sun., Dec. 1, from Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with interment in Carolina Cemetery.

EDNA LOUISE LAWSON WORLEY

Edna Louise Lawson Worley, 89, of Andalusia, passed away Fri., Nov. 29, 2013, at Andalusia Manor.

Funeral services were held on Mon., Dec. 2, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Larry Stewart officiating and interment following at Enon Cemetery.

Survivors include her two daughters, Martha Ann Worley and Melonny Michele (Bobby Joe) Hutto, both of Andalusia; four sons, Curtis Lester (Ruth) Worley of Billingsley, Wesley Dawnelle (Donna) Worley, Roger Glenn (Gail) Worley, Royce Gerald (Twynette) Worley and Terry Jerome Worley, all of Andalusia; 20 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Derek Worley, Roger Cooper, Russell Worley, Hunter Worley, Steven Worley and Doug Hutto. Honorary pallbearers were her other beloved grandsons.

ELOISE VERNELL JOHNSON DYE

Eloise Vernell Johnson Dye, 95, of Andalusia, passed away Thu., Nov. 28, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services were held on Sat., Nov. 30, at Antioch Congregational Church with the Rev. Wayne Sharpe officiating and interment following in Antioch Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Sue (John) Clark; four grandchildren, Cindy (Walt) Baaske, Chris Echols, Benji (Stephanie) Jordan and Joey (Heather) Jordan; five great-grandchildren, Niki (Michael) Memmel, Cameron Echols, Brittany Baaske, Emily Jordan and Clark Jordan; and two great-great grandchildren, Silas Memmel and Liam Memmel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Dye; daughter, Evelyn Echols; parents, Hiram and Bobbie Johnson; and brothers, Jep Johnson and Comer Johnson.

Pallbearers will be Tracey Canant, Scott Dye, Steve Dye, Raymond Worley, David Day and Adam Turner.
