Since the start of the season, the Opp Bobcats made it their motto to play as a family.

That certainly was the case Thursday night as the varsity boys defeated Providence Christian 57-21 in regular season action.

OHS coach Sterling Driver said the defense played “really well.”

“We played up tempo half-court wise,” Driver said. “We got a lot of good shots off of transition tonight.

“Providence Christian, they have a good team,” he said. “They played hard. It was a good test for us. It was one of those wins we needed.”

Driver said the boys really came together and played as a “unit.”

“We just need to keep playing hard,” he said. “We’re taking it one game at a time.”

JaKeith Edwards led OHS with 11 points. Orlando Lacey had eight points. Tavise Stoudemire, Ty White and Devontae Williams chipped in seven points each.

In varsity girls action, the Lady Bobcats took a tumble, falling 46-25 to PCA.

Saquaya Lane led OHS with 17 points.

Mary Palm led PCA with 24 points.

Oppp defeated PCA 30-21 in B-team action to stay undefeated on the season.

Greg House led with 11 points. Evan King chipped in eight.

The varsity boys improve to 3-3 on the season, the girls are at 4-2 and the B-team is now 4-0.

Opp travels to play rival Andalusia tonight in regular season action.
