MCCORMICK

Nancy Morgan McCormick, 28 of Andalusia, formerly of Anniston, passed away unexpectedly on Tue., Dec. 10, 2013, at her residence.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m., today, Fri., Dec. 13, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Holloway officiating.

Survivors include her mother, Claudetta Morgan of Anniston; daughter, Maddyson Fayth McCormick; sons, David Michael McCormick and Jacob Robert McCormick, all of Andalusia; brothers, Don Edwin Holsomback, Michael (Lisa) Ziglar of Andalusia, Daniel Kandziorski and Thomas (Jessica) Kandziorski, both of Anniston; sister, Melissa (John D.) Payne, also of Anniston; paternal grandfather, Burl William Thomas Morgan of Alex City; maternal grandmother, Lois Elizabeth Walker of Oxford; and nieces and nephews, Brooke Kandziorski, Thomas Kandziorski, Tyler Ziglar, Matthew Ziglar, Anna Payne and Zachary Payne.

GROVER MATHIS ‘MACK’ EDWARDS

Grover Mathis “Mack” Edwards, 87, of Andalusia, passed away Dec. 12, 2013, at the local hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Sat., Dec. 14, at Adellum Baptist Church with Keahey Funeral Home directing. Internment will follow in the Adellum Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Boles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at Adellum Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Bessie Lou Edwards; son and daughter-in-law, Ronald M. (Cheryl) Edwards, all of Andalusia; daughters and sons-in-law, Debra (Sonny) Jones of Babbie, Stephanie (Danny) Richburg of Onycha and Edwina Edwards (Ken Reed) of River Falls; six grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

ARNOLD ‘ARNIE’ ELMORE

Arnold “Arnie” Elmore, born Nov. 14, 1922, passed away on Dec. 11, 2013, in the local nursing home at the age of 91.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m., today, Fri., Dec. 13, at Andalusia Memorial Cemetery with Keahey Funeral Home directing and the Rev. Billy Boles officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Anneva O’Neal Elmore.

He was a World War II veteran and retired from Hooper Inc., as a street paver, after working there for more than 40 years. A lifelong resident of Packer Avenue, he was known by family and friends for daily reading his Bible, enjoying watching old movies and leisurely driving around in his car.

Friends and neighbors will serve as pallbearers.

CHARLES ROBERT OWENS

Charles Robert Owens, 60, of Georgiana, passed away on Wed., Dec. 11, 2013.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Sat., Dec. 14, from the Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Olean Jones and the Rev. Randy Harvill officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday from 2 p.m. until service time.

Survivors include his wife, Cecilia Owens; daughters, Gabrielle Owens, both of Georgiana, and Tonya Moore of Opp; son, Jason Owens of Andalusia; father, Ralph Owens Jr.; sisters, Ruth King, Doris Lawton, Gladys Brown, Mabel Brown and Evelyn Bartholemew; brothers, Ralph Owens III and Richard Owens, all of Turbotville, Pa; and six grandchildren.
