There are a bevy of good basketball teams participating in Red Level’s 16th annual Boys and Girls Christmas Tournament, which tips off tomorrow morning.

“We have a lot of good teams back this year,” RLS coach Allen Catrett said. “We’ve added some this year that weren’t here last year.”

Catrett said the new additions are Andalusia’s boys and girls, Elba’s boys and W.S. Neal’s boys and girls.

There are eight teams in each bracket.

Red Level, W.S. Neal, Opp, Luverne, Straughn, Elba, Andalusia and Georgiana comprise the girls teams.

RLS, AHS, EHS, OHS, SHS, WSN, Luverne and GHS make up the boys’ team roster.

“We’ve got Luverne back,” Catrett said in response to whether one bracket is better than the other. “Then, you’ve got Straughn (girls) who won it last year. You’ve got some good first-round match ups.”

Games start each day at 9 a.m. The last game of the day will be held at 7:30 p.m. The first game each day will be a girls game.

The championship game is slated for Saturday at 6 p.m. for the girls and 7:30 for the boys.
