BOBBIE BROWN

Bobbie Brown, 73, of Sanford, passed away on Mon., Dec. 30, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Foreman Funeral Home.

 

FLOSSIE RACHEL DURKEE

Flossie Rachel Durkee, 85, of Gantt, passed away Sat., Dec. 28, 2013, in Andalusia Regional Hospital.

She was born on Dec. 10, 1928, in Chatham, Mass., to Freeman W. Phillips and Emma Pauline Eldridge Phillips. She was married to Alfred “Bud” Durkee, who precedes her in death, along with their son, James A. Durkee.

She is survived by her children, Ray. A. Durkee of Chatham, Mass., Maureen Durkee of Gantt, and Pamela Mallowes and Julia Meincke, both of Chatham, Mass.; nine grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.

No public service is planned for Mrs. Durkee, as the family will be handling things privately.

CATHERINE HAM BAILEY CLEMENTS

Catherine Ham Bailey Clements, 86, of Andalusia, passed away on Mon., Dec. 30, 2013, at her residence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Thu., Jan. 2, 2014, at Oakey Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Meadows officiating and interment following in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Foreman Funeral Home and at the church Thursday, 30 minutes prior to services.

Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Horace and Annette Bailey and Jeff and Robin Bailey, all of Andalusia; her daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Jim Wood of Andalusia and Gayle and Horace Weeks of Kinston; her grandchildren, Amy Brown, Penelope Jones, Rob White, Lynn Boutwell, Sherry Griffin, Leigh Anne Whitehurst, Amanda Wise, Molly Bailey and A. J. Bailey; her great-grandchildren, Austin Whitehurst, Carl Whitehurst, Dalton Boutwell, Amber Boutwell, Jordin Boutwell, Levi Griffin, Annlee Wise, Cape Wise, Ethan Brown, Alex Brown and Haley White; and one sister and brother-in-law, Totsie and M. L. Barton of Andalusia.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oakey Ridge Baptist Church.

HUEY ARLEN WILLIAMS

Huey Arlen Williams, 78, of Enterprise, passed away Thu., Dec. 26, 2013, in Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

Graveside services were held at 2:30 p.m., on Sun., Dec. 29, at Buck Creek Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Level with the Rev. Nathan Carroll and the Rev. Boyd Hartzog officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory directing.

He was born Oct. 26, 1935, in Covington County to the late Huey Edward and Lina Brooks Williams. He was reared in Red Level, where his grandfather founded Buck Creek Church, and was a graduate of Red Level High School. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and worked with Ford Motor Credit, retiring after 35 years of service. He was a member of Lee Street Baptist Church. He was kindhearted, generous and compassionate – a man of integrity and hard work ethics who loved his family very much.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Eleanor Griggs.

He is survived by his wife, Pat Williams of Enterprise; daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Mickey Bennett of Geneva; sister, Elaine (Jack) Mott of Valparaiso, Fla.; grandchild, Callie Bennett of Geneva; and several nieces and nephews.
