Opp City Schools Superintendent Michael Smithart said the interview process is ongoing to fill the vacant head football coach’s position at the high school.

“We’re still in the process of interviewing applicants,” Smithart said in an email. “We would like to have someone in place by the end of January, but we aren’t going to rush to meet a time table.”

Smithart said the search committee is being “very thorough and deliberate” during this search, and that a new coach will be in place by spring training.
