New Brockton tops Opp in overtime

Three of Opp’s Bobcats finished in double figures in a 52-49 overtime loss to New Brockton Tuesday night.

JaKeith Edwards scored 13 points; Orlando Lacey scored 12 points; and Ty White chipped in 11 points as the Bobcats fell to 9-12 on the season.

New Brockton’s Marquise Neal led the Gamecocks with 21 points. Johnny Silas chipped in nine points.

In varsity girls action, the Lady Bobcats beat NBHS 35-10.

Saquaya Lane led OHS with 10 points. Anna Davis had eight points, and Asia Edwards scored seven.

New Brockton’s Grace Lee scored six points.

In B-team boys, Opp won 46-32.

The Bobcats were led by Payton Whigham with 11 points. Greg House and Evan King had 10 points each.

The Gamecocks were led by Clay Kelley with 13 points, and D.T. Adams with 11.

Opp is back in action tomorrow night in a regular-season contest at Pike County in Goshen.
