Opp’s JaKeith Edwards made six 3-pointers for a 20-point shooting night, but the Bobcats fell 60-55 to Excel in area action on Friday.

Derek Savage backed his teammate up with 16 points. Ty White added 11 points.

OHS drops to 9-13 overall, and 0-2 in Class 3A, Area 2 play.

Excel’s Christian Cross led the Panthers with 19 points.

In girls action, the Lady Bobcats also lost to EHS, falling 37-34.

Anna Davis led OHS with 14 points. Saquaya Lane had nine.

Excel’s LeLe Parker scored 18 points.

The Lady Bobcats fall to 10-10 overall, and 0-2 in area.

In B-team action, Opp topped Excel 28-25 in overtime.

This was the second straight OT win for the younger Bobcats.

Opp’s Reggie Thompson led with nine points. Marquavious Hall chipped in six points.

Excel’s Nathan McCroy had 11 points.

Opp hosts Straughn in area action on Tuesday.
