Andy boys, girls fall in Evergreen

Three Andalusia Bulldogs scored in double figures Friday night, but it wasn’t enough in a 67-48 loss to Hillcrest-Evergreen.
Phillip James led AHS with 15 points; Jayden Ellison had 12; and Montel Lee chipped in 11.
In girls action, the Lady Bulldogs didn’t fair well as they lost 38-22.
Although they didn’t have any player who finished in double figures, the Lady Bulldogs rebounded well, AHS coach Brad Garner said.
“We just couldn’t score with an consistency,” Garner said.
AHS trailed by seven at the end of the third period.
Excel boys 54, Opp boys 40
Excel’s Christian Gross scored 24 points, and Ray Dale added nine in the win.
Opp’s Chris Morrow and Derek Savage had eight points each. Cale Pierce and Ty White had seven each.
In B-team action, the Bobcats won 31-15.
Evan King led OHS with 10 points. Tramequez Lane had six.
Opp girls 46, Excel girls 14
Asia Edwards led the Lady Bobcats with 17 points. Saquaya Lane had 13 points, and Anna Davis chipped in 12 points.
Excel’s McKaylan Brown had five points.
