JOYCE COBURN BREWER
Joyce Coburn Brewer, 78, of Andalusia, died Wed., Feb. 12, 2014. Funeral services will be held today, Sat., Feb. 15, at 2 p.m. from the Carolina Baptist Church. The Rev. Bill Boles will officiate. Interment will follow in the Carolina Cemetery.
Brewer is survived by her husband, J. Marlon Brewer of Andalusia; her daughter, Marla Joyce (Garry) St. Jean; her sons, Faron (Cecelia) Brewer of Spanish Fort, Ala., and Jesse (Angie) Brewer on Andalusia; grandchildren, Joy Brewer Antoine, Jessica Brewer Archer, Cayla Brewer and Jay Marlon Brewer; a sister, Erlene Phillips of Andalusia; and a brother, Edward (Betty) Coburn of Daphne, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Garry St. Jean, Mark Phillips, Robert Phillips, Justin Archer, Jason Antoine and Nicky Short.

MARY ALLEN
Mary Allen, 71, a resident of Dothan, passed away on Thurs., Feb. 13, 2014, at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held Sun., Feb. 16, at 3 p.m. at Magnolia Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends Sunday at the church from 2:30 to 3 p.m.
Allen was born on Aug. 22, 1942, in Brewton and lived there the early years of her life. She was a 1960 graduate of T. R. Miller High School and later received her bachelor of science degree from Auburn University. Allen received her master’s degree in counseling from Troy University. She was employed with the Haven for many years and finished her career with Ventress Correctional Facility in Clayton, Ala. prior to her retirement in 2009. Allen was an avid football fan, especially of the Auburn Tigers. She was a member of the Chi Omega Sorority.
Allen is survived by her husband, Gene Allen; two sons, Dr. Jon (Teresa) Ward and Dr. Allen M. (Kimberly) Ward; two daughters, Susan Ward and Nell (Dennis) Eishen; nine grandchildren, Tara Bush, Alex Ward, Zac Eishen, Jake Eishen, Sydney Ward, Collin Ward, Ella Ward, Ryder Taplin and Lyle Taplin.
