BESSIE WIMER WAGNER

Bessie Wimer Wagner, born Sept. 18, 1924, died Tues., Feb. 18, 2014, at her home in Florala. Wagner will be most remembered for what she considered her “calling” as a nurse. She was a registered nurse at Florala Memorial Hospital and Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp. She was a source of advice and comfort, just a phone call away for friends and neighbors.

Memorial services will be held today, Thurs., Feb. 20 at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Florala.

Wagner was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Paul Wagner; son, Van Wagner; brothers, Loyal and Gaylord Wimer; and sister, Jean Wimer Nye.

In marriage and business together, the Wagners opened their home to people far and wide.

Wagner is survived by a brother, Ed Wimer of Rose Point, Pa.; two children, Tim Wagner of Lebanon, Maine and Saxon Poppell of Florala; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Camp Victory of Samson, Ala., or Camp Run Presbyterian Church of Fombell, Pa.

ALBERT JUNIOR GRIMES

Albert Junior Grimes, 89, of Andalusia, died Wed., Feb. 19, 2014, at Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp.

Funeral services will be held Sat., Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. at Macedonia Methodist Church. The Rev. Douglas Golden will officiate. Interment will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be at the church Saturday prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Grimes is survived by a sister, Annie Ruth Meredith of Rose Hill; two brothers, Wiley Grimes of Andalusia and Walter Grimes of Opp; and numerous nieces and nephews.

DOROTHY A. JACKSON

Dorothy A. Jackson, 71, of Andalusia, died Tues., Feb. 18, 2014, at Opp Nursing Facility.

Funeral services will be held Fri., Feb. 21 at 11 a.m. at Foreman Funeral Home chapel. Bro. Greg Cotter and Vicki Popwell will officiate. Interment will be in Harmony Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday prior to the service, from 9 to 11 a.m.

Jackson is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bobby Lee and Susan Johns; daughters and son-in-law, Anita Johns and Susie and Collis Worley; grandchildren, Kevin Johns, Austin Johns and Jessica Johns (Andy) Gibson.
