Bulldogs beat Tigers 7-0, 8-3 in Saturday twin bill
Andalusia swept Straughn in a varsity baseball doubleheader Saturday afternoon at Bulldogs Stadium.
On a sunny day at AHS, the Bulldogs won 7-0 in game one and took game two 8-3 in the night cap.
Quinton Maddox was the winning pitcher in game one, while Justin Scherzinger picked up the win in game two.
In junior varsity action, Straughn swept the Bulldogs 6-0, 6-2.
Andalusia 7, Straughn 0
Andalusia scored three runs in the first inning and two runs each in the second and third innings.
Grayson Campbell went 1-for-3 with a double and three RBIs to lead the Bulldogs. Todd Wright, Jud Rogers (RBI) and Peyton Maddox went 1-for-3 each; Daniel Henderson went 1-for-2; Hunter Earnest went 1-for-4 with a double; and Brandon Smith went 0-for-4 with a run.
Andalusia 8, Straughn 3
Henderon and Earnest went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs each to lead the Bulldogs in the second game.
Campbell and Ross Graham went 1-for-2 each; Smith went 1-for-4; and Harrison went 1-for-3.
Additionally, Scherzinger went 0-for-3 with two RBIs.
Andalusia scored one run in the second inning, four runs in the third, two runs in the fourth and one run in the sixth.
Straughn took a 2-1 lead in the top of the third inning, and scored one run in the top of the seventh.
SHS played a single game last night at Goshen The Tigers will be back in action tonight at game for another doubleheader against Brantley. First pitch is at 4 p.m.
Andalusia travels to Providence Christian in Dothan for single games in junior varsity and varsity action.
