Eight softball teams highlight Andalusia’s Fastpitch Tournament, which starts tomorrow at the Dwight Mikel Sports Complex.

Other than the host team, Straughn, Pleasant Home, Opp, Brantley, Prattville Christian Academy, G.W. Long and Highland Home will be participating in the two-day tournament.

All day tomorrow and the first four games of Saturday will be pool play.

AHS, PCA, OHS and BHS are in Pool A. SHS, PHS, GWLHS and HHS are in Pool B.

Pool A games will be played on Field No. 1, and Pool B games will be played on Field No. 2.

Once pool play is over after the 10:30 a.m. game on Saturday, the tournament will transition to single-elimination bracket play, which starts at 12:30 p.m. with the No. 2 and 3 seeds, along with the No. 1 and 4 seeds playing each other.

Straughn-Pleasant Home, 10:30 a.m. Saturday

Single elimination games begin at 12:30 p.m. with Pool A’s No. 3 seed facing Pool B’s No. 2 seed; and Pool A’s No. 2 seed facing Pool B’s No. 3 seed. Pool A’s No. 1 seed plays Pool B’s No. 4 seed; and Pool B’s No. 1 seed plays Pool A’s No. 4 seed at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinals. Semifinal play starts at 3:30 p.m. with the championship slated to start at around 5 p.m.
